Bruker MALDI Biotyper Sirius
Bruker MALDI Biotyper Sirius
The MALDI Biotyper Sirius determines the species identity of microorganisms by employing matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization–time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry to generate highly specific proteomic mass spectral profiles. These profiles primarily reflect the relative abundances of ribosomal and proteins within the low molecular weight range. The acquired spectra are digitally processed, and compared against the system’s extensive, curated reference libraries using advanced pattern matching algorithms and statistical scoring. This process enables rapid, high throughput, and reproducible species level identification with a high degree of accuracy, even among closely related microbial taxa.
